About the role
As a Medical Officer in the Emergency Department, you will assess, stabilise and treat patients presenting with medical, surgical, trauma and paediatric emergencies. You will work under the supervision of senior specialists and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Provide immediate clinical assessment and emergency care.
- Perform diagnostic investigations and interpret results.
- Support trauma resuscitation and critical care procedures.
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation for all cases.
- Assist and supervise junior doctors and medical students.
Essential requirements
- Medical degree recognised in Papua New Guinea.
- Eligible for registration with the PNG Medical Board.
- Experience in acute, emergency or critical care settings.
- Strong clinical judgement and communication skills.
Desirable
- Training in ACLS, ATLS, or other emergency life support programs.
- Experience in a busy referral or teaching hospital.
